Elktrout's extraordinary fishing is well-complimented by the quality of the staff and lodging. After a day on the water, relax in a tranquil lodge overlooking the picturesque Colorado River valley.
Guests fish private stretches of the Colorado and Blue Rivers and Troublesome Creek. Much of this water is Gold Medal. Stonefly and caddisfly hatches start the season in mid-May, with drake and trico hatches as the season continues to October. Many days, successive hatches mean you can often fish dry flies all day long.
Elktrout Lodge is made up of a main lodge and two guest cabins. With a total capacity of 22 guests, sitting in front of the fieldstone fireplace is like being home for a family reunion - if your family was as crazy about fly fishing as you are. Bask in the warm afterglow of good food, good fishing and good company and recount the day's exploits.
The main lodge has room for 16 guests in clean, comfortable double rooms. Each room has two beds and a private bath. For those who prefer a little more privacy, one bedroom and two bedroom cabins are available next to the lodge. In a sense, Elktrout is yours to enjoy as though it were your own private fishing lodge.
