Kalgauch Jet Boat Camp
The Kalgauch is a broad, shallow freestone river. It runs out of the pristine mountains, clear and cold just like a great rainbow trout river should. Flowing 150 to 200 feet wide, it is shallow and easily wadeable. Small, vegetation-covered spring creeks replenish the river periodically. Because it is mostly spring fed, water conditions and clarity are very reliable, and resident biologists report that the stream always runs clear from June through October.
There are three distinctly different Rainbows in the river. All are unique to the Kamchatka Peninsula, and new to science. It is an exciting discovery.
Anglers utilize a centrally located Jet-boat tent camp spending the week moving up and down the river on a beat system. Considering the camp is limited to 4 anglers per week this is the kind of wilderness fishing unheard of anywhere on the planet. Each two anglers share large, comfortable, modern tents, and take their meals in a separate dining tent. Since the camp is stationary, each day you will return to warm hospitality and comfortable accommodations.
Kalgauch 2006 season rates: $4,850.00 per person, double occupancy. |
