Lake Rotoroa Lodge is far from the maddening crowds in an isolated, beautiful, unspoiled location surrounded by the forest fairyland of the Nelson Lakes National Park.

From the Lodge's lakeside location, guests look to the towering peaks of the Travers Range, splendour only matched by the quality and ambience of the Lodge itself. The Lodge provides luxurious facilities coupled with old world charm and relaxed personal attention to all guest's requirements. Their friendly and professional New Zealand hospitality, combined with their reputation for trout fishing, cuisine and service make Lake Rotoroa Lodge one of New Zealand's most charming destinations.

Enjoy flyfishing on crystal clear streams and rivers, with over 26 accessible by road, and another 18 by helicopter, taking you to some great wilderness locations.

Dry fly and fishing with lightly weighted nymphs tests the skill of the most discerning angler.

Experienced professional guides will show you the art of stalking, spotting and delicately presenting a fly to big brown trout in crystal clear water. Lake Rotoroa offers some of the most challenging and rewarding fishing in the world.

Lake Rotoroa Lodge was built in the early 1920's incorporating the style of the Victorian era. Originally built as a travellers rest and abandoned for many years, the Lodge was meticulously restored in 1980, with each of the nine suites combining the old style elegance and ambience of the 1920's, including brass beds and feather quilts, and featuring modern ensuite facilities.
