Patagonia Baker Lodge offers access to some wonderful fishing on the Rio Baker and other nearby streams and lakes for Rainbow and Brown Trout in the 1lb to 9 lbs range. Fishing is a mix of wading and floating using a Mckenzie drift boat, rafts and Zodiac inflatable boats.
Located on the banks of the Rio Baker, the lodge has 6 deluxe double occupancy rooms each with a woodstove and bathroom. The main lodge area features a comfortable sitting room with fireplace, a dining room, and a flytying and leisure room.
One of the high spots of a visit to Patagonia Baker Lodge is fishing the Rio Cochrane. Downstream of the town of Cochrane (pop. 4,000) the river is a delightful tree lined stream with a lot of big fish hiding under banks and on the fringes of weed beds. The Upper Cochrane, accessed by jet boat, flows through a rocky canyon and its crystal clear waters hold some spectacular fish. While the effective techniques here are not for the dryfly purist, the chance to hook one of these big 'bows is too good to pass up.
For the non-angler, the lodge offers horseback riding, kayaking, trekking and other sightseeing excursions.
Located 170 miles from Balmaceda, Patagonia Baker Lodge offers either land or air taxi transfers between Balmaceda Airport and the lodge.
