Rio Manso Lodge
Deep in the wild and untrammeled beauty of Argentine Patagonia, in the shadow of the Andes, Rio Manso Lodge is located at the confluence of Lago Hess and the Manso river - in the Nahuel Huapi National Park, 90 minutes south west of the city of San Carlos de Bariloche.
Light fishing pressure make for excellent results in the area.
Their programs include many options: you can fish any of the
different sections of the Rio Manso, which runs for 20 miles
, or fish the very productive reed beds of Lago Hess using float tubes or go by skiff to access a wide variety of pristine and untouched areas.
Being the only lodge in this majestic
National Park, guests of Rio Manso Lodge get to experience its magnificent solitude.
You'll find outstanding fishing for Brook, Brown and Rainbow Trout. These fish were introduced into the area in 1904
and populations have flourished naturally. The fish average around 2 to 4 lbs,
with the occasional fish in the 8 to 10 lb range.
The wide variety of waters close to the lodge see very little fishing pressure which, combined with the spectacular scenery of Mount Tronador and Lago Hess, will make for an unforgettable experience.
Your hosts will share
their passion for this place and their knowledge of all the
activities you can enjoy during your visit.
The lodge caters to fly fishers.
However, non-fishing companions are most welcome and
they can enjoy a variety of other activities, such as floating
in the surrounding rivers, trekking excursions
in the still virgin areas surrounding the lodge, climbing
in the nearby mountains, and horse riding.
The cuisine is a mix of international and local
dishes, enhanced by vegetables from the lodge's garden and other
homemade delicacies. Along with great food, the lodge also features premium Argentine wines.
Rio Manso Lodge can accommodate 8 fishermen in comfortable rooms (double and single) each with private bathroom,
jacuzzi, and full size beds.
All rooms have a spectacular view of Mount Tronador,
Lake Hess and the Rio Manso.
The lodge offers a cozy living room with a welcoming fire, dining room and bar along with a fly tying area, and a drying room
for waders, conveniently located by the lodge’s entrance door. Telephone and internet access are also available.
