Lodge viewNewly opened in 2004, Challhuaquen (Mapuche for "fishing place") is a wonderful new lodge on the banks of the Rio Grande (AKA Futaleufu) in Patagonia's Trevellin Valley.

This exquisite lodge has 6 double rooms, each with a private bathroom and a view of the river along with the backdrop, combining pampered comfort and a superb fishing experience.

The fishing area known as Comarca de Los Alerces, is internationally reknowned as one of the finest fishing locations in the world. It is characterized by a large number of glacial lakes and hundreds of rivers and streams, with a variety of trout as well as landlocked salmon, which were introduced in these habitats 100 years ago from all over the world.

Rivers: Futaleufu, Corinto, Rivadavia, Carrileufu, Arrayanes, Frey, Nant y Fall, Desaguadero, Corcovado and Pico, Arroyo Pescado.

Lakes & Lagoons: Menendez, Verde, Futalaufquen, Krugger and Vinter, Willmanco, Baguilt, Larga and La Zeta.

 

 

Getting There:
By land via Esquel (60km) or Bariloche (350km). Also, the lodge is only 10km from the Chilean border @ Paso Futaleufu.

November - April.

$750.00 per person per night, double occupancy, 2 anglers per guide.
