![]() Talaheim Lodge is located midway on the Talachulitna River just 85 miles west of Anchorage in the foothills of the Alaska Range.
Your trip takes you through rushing waters to peaceful, fish-filled pools and timber-lined, glacier-carved lakes where you can cast to nine species including Pacific Salmon, Rainbow Trout, Grayling, Dolly Varden and Northern Pike.
The guest cabins are constructed with local logs and timbers from Talaheim's sawmill, they are rustic but comfortable and modern with indoor bathrooms and electricity. In addition there is a sauna, hot tub, radio telephone, float plane, helicopter and river boats. Since 1988 Talaheim Lodge has been utilizing helicopters to take clients to areas few fishermen have ever fished. The folks at Talaheim believe that Alaskan fishing should be a wilderness experience, after all, you are fishing the 'last frontier'. Just a 10 or 20 minute flight from the lodge by helicopter will open up hundreds of miles of wilderness fishing streams. Talaheim is one of the few lodges offering 'heli-fishing.' Waters that they fish by helicopter see very few fishermen.
Season: June 22- Sept 13.
