Some anglers favor a tent camp right on the river. It is a superb way to truly experience the Alaskan bush. Fish from dawn to dusk. For those so inclined, Mission Lodge operates their Alaska West camp on the famed Kanektok River in the Togiak Wildlife Refuge.

Don't let the term "tent camp" mislead you. This is not about roughing it. There is not a more modern, clean, well-appointed camp in Alaska. Wood frame beds with foam mattresses and hot showers are just a few of the exceptional creature comforts offered here. Just two anglers per tent and boat/guide.

As for the river, anyone who has ever fished the Kanektok dreams of a return visit. Abundant salmon runs, modest size rivers, ideally suited to the fly and super Rainbows.
